The following is an official announcement regarding our bylaws, changes to it, as required to amend them at the January 2023 membership meeting.

Amendment to our North Dakota Shooting Sports By-laws as presented at our September 2022 Board of Directors Meeting

Section 7 of the NDSSA bylaws: “will become the property of the NRA/ILA” is deleted and “will become the property of NDSSA Affiliated Clubs” is inserted in its place.

  • Wyoming: Pro-Gun Bills Head to Governor's Desk
    This week, the Senate passed HB 39, HB 96, and HB 98. All three bills now advance to Governor Mark Gordon for his consideration. 
  • Oregon: Senate Passes Ballot Measure 114 Bill
    Yesterday, the Senate passed an amended House Bill 4145, now engrossed as HB 4145 B. It will now return to the House for concurrence as amended.
  • Florida: Pro-Industry Legislation Passes House
    Today, the Florida House passed House Bill 1551, important pro-industry legislation that strengthens legal protections for firearm manufacturers. The bill now advances to the Florida Senate for further consideration. Please use the Take Action button below to contact your State Senator and urge them to SUPPORT HB 1551.  
  • Bill Introduced to Block Unconstitutional Gun Registries
    Recently, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) and Representative Paul Gosar (R-AZ-09) reintroduced the Gun Owner Registration Information Protection Act. This important legislation would prevent the federal government from funding or otherwise supporting the creation or maintenance of a state sponsored gun registry.  
  • Senator Mike Lee Introduces National Constitutional Carry Act
    Earlier this week, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced S. 4013, the National Constitutional Carry Act. This legislation would prohibit states from imposing any criminal or civil penalty on U.S. citizens for carrying a firearm in public.  
  • New Jersey: West Milford in Passaic County becomes the 18th Town in New Jersey to Nullify Carry Permit Fees Through an Initiative Backed by NRA, NJFOS, and CCRKBA.
    On March 4th, West Milford, in Passaic County, became the 18th municipality in New Jersey to refund all or substantially all the fees required to obtain a permit to carry.
  • California: Gun Owner Privacy Bill Scheduled for Committee Hearing
    Legislation threatening the privacy of California firearm owners will be heard next week. Assembly Bill 1743 is scheduled for a hearing before the Assembly Public Safety Committee on Tuesday, March 10, at 9:00 AM.    
  • Oklahoma: House Passes Two Pro-Gun Bills
    Yesterday, the Oklahoma House passed two pro-Second Amendment bills, HB 2960 providing liability protections to firearm industry members for third party misuse of their products, and HB 2937 expanding carry protections to include watercraft. Both bills will now move to the Senate for further consideration.     
  • Michigan: Constitutional Carry Legislation Introduced
    A package of pro-Second Amendment legislation has been introduced in the Michigan House. House Bills 5653–5657 would make Michigan the 30th state in the nation to recognize Constitutional Carry, allowing individuals who are legally permitted to possess a firearm to carry a concealed pistol without first obtaining a government-issued permit. The legislation has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee and is currently awaiting a hearing date. Please use the Take Action button below to contact members of the House Judiciary Committee and urge them to SUPPORT HB 5653–HB 5657. 
  • New Hampshire: Senate Committee to Hear Several Pro Gun Bills Next Week
    On March 10th, the New Hampshire Senate Judiciary Committee will be holding a hearing on HB 609, enhancing firearm preemption and HB 1365, increasing privacy protections for concealed carry permits.
